MCCANN Sarajevo partner of „Annie“ musical play for children and grown-ups
Musical has been inspired by the famous US movie for 1982, for which the music was done by Charles Strouse. This is the first professional musical staging in Bosnia and Herzegovina that includes children from 6-14 years of age.
“McCann Sarajevo in cooperation with iMTM is working on implementing the Annie musical, with a goal of bringing musical theatre closer to the general public. Annie represents a significant educational project where over 40 children will be included in performance and educated. We are proud that the agency is a pro bono communicational partner for the musical. Be believe that this will be one of the biggest theatrical achievements during this season and for sure a huge hit” – said Vesna Vlašić Jusupović, Managing Director of McCann Sarajevo.
During three rounds of auditions, among 70 kids, 14 of them has been chosen for main roles and 18 of them for Chorale and Dancing Ensemble. The cast is constituted out of atteendes of iMTM, students of Academy of Performing Arts, professional singers – vocalists of the National Theatre Opera Melisa Hajrulahović-Tomić and Jasmin Bašić.
“Kids will be playing their first professional roles side by side with 10 adult professionl actors. Approximatelly 70 figures which will be present on the scene guarantee a true spectal, charmingly directed play which connects music, dancing and acting. Bunch of colorfullness, joy, wonderful singing and all kinds of theatrical grandeur will result with a production to be remembered for a long time” – points out Alma Ferović Fazlić, director of iMTM.
Consisted out of two different children casts, Annie musical will have two premieres – 3rd and 4th of June in National Theatre in Sarajevo.
